Revit Roof From Line

With this line style selected all i need to do is click on each line that i want to apply this style to which is all the lines that make up the perimeter of the roof boundary.

You can move the roof from elevation view or change the offset value. You can drag any point in your roof and adjust the roof shape as you want. In the option bar make sure defines slope is activated for boundary lines. Open the plan view of the level in which you want to see the roof line.

On the properties palette specify a value for number of full segments. Activate modify sub elements. In the view properties expand the underlay drop down and select the level on which the roof was created to display as an underlay. If desired you can divide the arc or circle into segments as follows.

When editing the roof footprint change properties of a roof boundary line to define its slope overhang offset and more. I just need to go around the rest of the perimeter and apply the overhead line style. If a roof includes a slope defining arc line or circle it creates a conical roof. If desired set the lines of the second roof to be slope defining except the roof line that will be coincident with the first roof or the wall.

In this sample i only use one. Name description constraints defines roof slope for footprint roofs specifies a roof line to be a slope defining line. 2 activate slope to create a sloped roof want to create a sloped roof. After you finish with the lines open default 3d view.

To change instance properties select the element and change its properties on the properties palette. On the view control bar for visual style select shaded. Click view tab create panel default 3d view. To turn a sloped roof into a flat roof select all roof boundaries purple lines and uncheck defines slope in the option bar.
