Simple away to install or remove the gutters without a help and damaged. You can use caulk to fill holes left in the siding once the gutters and downspouts are removed. Take your hammer and slide the claw piece under the first of the gutter nails. Make sure that you place the gutter nail in a safe waste bin and don t leave it lying around on the roof.

You can then start removing the other nails. After the gutter is clear then you can use the pry bar to pull out the stubs. I have a 24 bolt cutter which cut those nails like butter. Use a pry bar to remove the gutter nail completely.

To remove them you need to pull the nail. This is usually done by removing screws or using a pry bar to remove nails. Just cut the aluminum nails with bolt cutters and then slide the gutters off. No matter how hard you try it is almost impossible to not bend crease and bugger your facia if you re attempting to remove a nail to reposition it or if yo.

Old fashioned gutter nails are called spikes and ferrules with the spikes being giant nails that pass through an aluminum sleeve the ferrule which holds a gutter to the fascia board of the house. Don t waste your time or gutters trying to pry out the old aluminum nails. The problem is that the gutter is made of thin sheet metal which will crush and deform if you pry against it with a hammer or pry bar. This is as simple as removing each gutter hanger or other device that holds the gutter in place.
